Register for the 2026 Winter General Assembly

TMACOG’s 2026 Winter General Assembly will be held on Friday, January 30. Join us and be part of a dynamic regional gathering where your insights and connections help drive meaningful collaboration.

Our keynote will highlight Lake Erie’s powerful economic impact on Northwest Ohio & Southeast Michigan. The keynote will feature Jon Altenberg, Executive Director of the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative, whose extensive background in public service, communications, and binational collaboration strengthens efforts to support Great Lakes communities. The Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Cities Initiative recently launched a major Economic Transformation Action Plan, a 10‑year blueprint for building a “Fresh Coast Economic Corridor” across the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River region. The 2025 Action Plan positions the region as one of North America’s fastest‑growing economic corridors.

In addition to the keynote presentation, the day will also include one of the two annual business meetings of the TMACOG General Assembly. This dedicated session is an essential part of the program. At the upcoming meeting, the General Assembly member representatives will take action on the TMACOG Governing Board’s recommendation to adopt a new organizational name, Lake Erie West Regional Council, and elect leadership for 2026.

The Winter General Assembly is an opportunity to connect with peers, stay informed on regional developments, and contribute to decisions that will shape TMACOG, and our region, for years to come.

Registration is open through January 23. Click here to access registration.

BGSU Event

Exploring water quality at BGSU

Families learned about the vital connections between water, food, soil, and sustainability during STEMPlate at Bowling Green State University.

Tiara Gonzalez, TMACOG’s environmental education coordinator, shared insight on protecting local waterways and demonstrated a model to show how everyday actions impact water quality. She also distributed materials from the Lake Erie Starts Here campaign, which empowers residents to make a difference for our region’s water resources.
